IIM Jammu Alumni Association (IIMJAA)

1. Introduction

IIM Jammu Alumni Association (IIMJAA) is a Registered Society under Registrar of Societies at Jammu as under the Societies registration Act -1860.

The primary aim of IIMJAA is to foster a supportive network of IIM Jammu Alumni, dedicated to enhancing the welfare of the alumni, current students, institute and contributing to societal development.

The Association seeks to engage alumni in meaningful ways, encouraging them to offer financial support through scholarships and other forms of assistance to students in need.

The Association further aims to strengthen professional ties between alumni and the alma mater, creating opportunities for mentorship, knowledge exchange, and career development. By promoting nation-building initiatives, charitable activities, and social responsibility.

The Association also aims to encourage the alumni to positively impact both the Association and Institute. Through these efforts, the Association aims to build a lasting relationship between the institute IIM Jammu and its alumni, ensuring ongoing engagement and support that aligns with the mission and vision of the institute.

2. Objectives of the Association

2.1. Foster a strong Alumni Network

  • Global Networking: Establish a worldwide network of alumni through consistent communication and engagement.
  • Events and Reunions: Organize various alumni events and reunions both physical and online.
  • Online Platforms: Develop digital platforms for alumni connection.

2.5. Support Community

3. Rules and Regulations

3.1. The Governing Body

The Governing Body of the Association is comprised of seven (7) ex-officio members. These members are the faculty and/ or non-faculty employees of the IIM Jammu.

  • The Director, IIM Jammu shall be the ex-officio Chairman of the Governing Body.
  • The Dean Academics shall be the ex-Officio Vice Chairman of the Governing Body.
  • The Chairperson Alumni Relations shall be the ex-Officio General Secretary of the Governing Body.
  • The Co-chairperson Alumni Relations, Chairperson Student Affairs and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) will serve as the three ex-officio Joint Secretaries of the Governing Body.
  • The Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer (FA&CAO) shall be the Treasurer of the Governing Body.

3.2. The General Body

  • The General Body consists of the ex-officio faculty members, ex-officio non-faculty members and the alumni members of the IIM Jammu who have successfully completed their degree program such as Undergraduate, Post-Graduate, and Doctoral Programs. Members will require to register with the association.
  • The General Body shall consider the Annual Report of the past activities; the budget and plan of activities for the next year; approval of accounts; election of members of the Executive Committee; appointment of auditors, legal advisors; and any other matters arising from time to time.

3.3. The Executive Committee

  • The Executive Committee is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Association.
  • The IIMJAA has an Executive Committee comprising of fourteen (14) members; seven (7) members from the Governing Body and additional seven (7) members which shall be elected by the General Body.
  • The Executive Committee is headed by the Chairman.
  • For the initial six (6) months from the date of registration, the fourteen (14) members Executive Committee shall comprise of the seven (7) members from the Governing Body and the remaining seven (7) members shall be nominated by the Governing Body.
  • The elections for the elected members of the Executive Committee shall be held within six (6) months from Registration Date (i.e. 18th June 2025) to replace these initially nominated seven (7) members as the Members Elected by the General Body.
